Overview
Kairos is built by Maxis. This policy covers the Kairos desktop app, the kairos.maxis.media website, and your account dashboard. We collect the minimum we need to run the product, and a large part of Kairos is designed to work without sending your data anywhere at all.
What runs on your device, not our servers
Scripture detection, live transcription, and slide display all run locally on the machine running Kairos. The audio from your service is processed on-device for detection — it is not uploaded to Maxis servers as part of that process.
What we do collect
- Account information — your email address and authentication details, handled via Supabase, when you sign up for a Kairos account.
- License and billing data — your plan, license key, and subscription status. Payments are processed by Paystack or Paddle directly; Kairos does not store your card details.
- Usage and trial metrics — things like trial minutes used, detection mode, and feature usage, so we can enforce plan limits and improve the product.
- Diagnostic telemetry — crash reports and detection-accuracy feedback you choose to submit, used to improve scripture and music detection over time.
- Optional cloud transcription — if you use a feature that requires cloud processing (for example, certain transcription paths via Deepgram), the relevant audio segment is sent to that provider to generate the result, then handled per that provider's own data retention practices.
Who we share data with
We don't sell your data. We share the minimum necessary with the infrastructure providers that make Kairos work:
- Supabase — authentication and account/database storage.
- Paystack / Paddle — payment processing and subscription billing.
- Resend — transactional email (account confirmation, license delivery).
- Deepgram — cloud speech-to-text, only for features that explicitly use it.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your account data or ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by contacting support@maxis.media. We'll respond within a reasonable time and confirm once it's done.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that materially affects how your data is handled, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
